How Late Are Liquor Stores Open in Alberta? A Late-Night Guide for St. Albert
When the store closes, what Alberta allows, and how to make a late run on St Albert Trail quick, easy and safe.
Read the guideLacombe Park sits just across St. Albert Trail from City Liquor. Take Lennox Drive east to the Trail, and we're just north of the intersection on the east side.
Lacombe Park is the neighbourhood directly west of City Liquor, across St. Albert Trail. You'll recognize its streets: many start with L, like Larose Drive, Leddy Avenue, Lennox Drive, Langholm Drive and Liberton Drive. Lennox Drive is one of the main ways out to the Trail, and it meets St. Albert Trail just south of our store. For anyone in Lacombe Park, we're the liquor store on the other side of the lights.
From the middle of the neighbourhood that's about 2.8 km, roughly a six-minute drive outside rush hour. From the streets around Lacombe Lake it's about 3 km. Homes near Liberton Drive and Langholm Drive, at the east edge of Lacombe Park, are much closer: as the crow flies, the store is only a few hundred metres across the Trail. Use the directions button on this page and your maps app will route you from your door.
The City of St. Albert allows alcohol in designated picnic areas in four parks: Kingswood, Lacombe Lake, Lions and Rotary. It's permitted between 11 AM and 9 PM, but not during city events. Outside those areas, open alcohol in parks and other public places isn't allowed. Look for the signs, keep it to the picnic site, take your empties home, and plan your ride before you open anything. Our Alberta liquor laws guide has the full rules on parks and vehicles. Remember that open alcohol isn't allowed in a car, so keep bottles sealed and out of reach on the drive over.
Whether it's a case for a backyard barbecue, a bottle of wine for dinner, or coolers and ciders for the lake, City Liquor has cold beer from singles to cases, wine, spirits and ready-to-drink options, with free parking right at the door. Tell our staff what you're making or who you're shopping for and we'll point you to a few good options. Hosting the street? Try our party drinks calculator, or browse our cocktail recipes for something simple to mix.
We're open from 10 AM every day, until 10 PM Sunday to Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Please enjoy responsibly. You must be 18+ to buy alcohol in Alberta, and if you're drinking, plan a safe ride home.
